We are celebrating our birthday: ALPS turns 10 this year! Before we slice into our birthday cake, we would like to tell you what ALPS RESORTS is all about and what’s behind Austria’s leading operator of holiday apartment complexes and chalet resorts.

2 becomes 26: the ALPS story from 2011 until today

ALPS RESORTS was established in July 2011 by Gerhard Brix, Tyrolean born and bred and a tourism professional through and through. Back then, ALPS began with the takeover of two holiday resorts in Styria under the name ALPS Residence. Ever since, the success-curve of this Tyrolean family business has trended up without interruption. Over the course of 10 years, the original 2 became 26 apartment and chalet resorts. With around 6,000 beds at some of the most beautiful locations in Tyrol, Carinthia, Styria, Salzburger Land and, since July 2021, also in Bavaria. On mountains, in national park regions, by the pistes, in pine forests and on lakeshores.

Holidays with friends and family

Since its inception, this Tyrolean family business has stood for carefree, independent holidays with friends and/or family. Our holiday apartments and holiday homes offer more than enough room for a good time with your loved ones and are equipped with every creature comfort. These include full kitchens and often even a private wellness area with (infrared) sauna or whirlpool / swim spa. Awaiting you right outside the door of your accommodations are adventures and pure relaxation. At many resorts it is freshly groomed pistes, at others hiking paths or exciting sightseeing attractions that are basically just a stone’s throw away.

Service during your self-catered holiday

Are you longing for a holiday with freedom and independence, but at the same time you don’t want to forego the services of a reception? Our ALPS employees know where to find the tastiest regional delicacies, which baker will provide you with your morning breakfast rolls, which hiking paths will lead you to the best photo points in the area, and which attractions simply have to be on your need-2-see list. “The dedication, professionalism and touristic know-how of our employees are focused squarely on guaranteeing you a successful vacation. We always try to hire locally based employees. It makes good sense from a tourism perspective, and it’s something our guests really appreciate”, explains Gerhard Brix, ALPS founder and owner. More than 100 ALPS team members ensure that your timeout in Austria or Bavaria will be as beautiful as possible.

ALPS RESORTS on the pulse of the times

Plenty of privacy and flexibility. A safe stay within “your own four walls” (for as long as your holiday lasts). Which places the finger of ALPS squarely on the pulse of the times, having expanded its portfolio by 10 additional resorts in 2021 alone. These include our Premium Resort Carpe Solem Rauris right by the valley lift station, Bergresort Hauser Kaibling with its exclusive chalets and private wellness area, and Ferienresort Inzell in Bavaria. At this, the first ALPS resort in Germany, guests are able to enjoy their holidays in a chalet with sauna and a private pool on the terrace. As of winter 21/22, we will venture yet another step into a new, booming sector: At Glamping Village Kötschach, our guests will stay in luxury tents, tree houses and glamping chalets, able to experience the perfect combination of outdoor feeling and total comfort.
