Since August 2018, the modern Alpine-style Tauern Suites Mitterwirt together with Restaurant Mitterwirt have shaped the center of Piesendorf, a village of 3000 residents close to Zell am See-Kaprun in Salzburger Land. Our 30 holiday apartments in 4 different categories give you ample space to stretch out and relax after a full vacation day in the fresh mountain air: Whether you spend a ski holiday together with friends in an “Aquamarine” suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, treat yourself to a hiking holiday for 2 in a “Smoky Quartz” suite on 50 m², enjoy the “Calcite” suite (35 m²) or a cozy studio, or wish to experience a family holiday including grandma and grandpa in our “Mountain Crystal” suite with 4 bedrooms: As individual as your holiday plans, we are certain to have the perfect apartment for you. A true highlight: our 2 “Emerald” penthouse suites with 3 bedrooms and private roof terrace (for up to 8 people).
All apartments in our holiday resort are fully equipped (including coffee maker, dishwasher, HDTV and free Wi-Fi) and feature either a balcony or terrace – with view of the Hohe Tauern or Kitzbühler Alpen mountains. Each of the holiday apartments is individually furnished with loving attention to every detail. An especially restful night’s sleep during your Austrian holiday at Tauern Suites Mitterwirt is guaranteed by our comfortable box-spring beds. In the kitchen, you will find all the essential kitchen utensils, plenty of cutlery as well as a microwave, stove with oven and Ceran range, refrigerator/freezer etc.

You can pick up your ski pass, the Ski Alpin Card for the Kitzsteinhorn, Schmittenhöhe and Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, at our reception desk – along with invaluable tips for your excursions inside the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region.
You will also be able to give your car a break: parking (an underground garage as well as outdoor parking spaces) is free, while a free ski bus to the Kitzsteinhorn, the Schmittenhöhe and Naglköpfl Adventure Mountain stops right in front of our apartment resort during your winter holidays. And in summer, public buses and trains in the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region between Krimml, Zell am See and Raurisertal are free of charge thanks to the National Park Sommercard which is automatically included!

Included National Park Sommercard
With the Nationalpark Sommercard, which is included free of charge, you are able to visit one of the area attractions inside the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region for free every day: The opportunities include Grossglockner High-Alpine Road, numerous summer lifts (such as Weisssee Gletscherwelt, Wildkogel Arena and Rauriser Hochalmbahnen), outdoor swimming facilities (such as Piesendorf Hinkelsteinbad, the swimming lake in Niedernsill and the Sonnblickbad in Rauris) and museums (e.g. National Park Worlds) as well as the imposing Krimml Waterfalls. Furthermore, the guest card allows you to ride public transportation for free as well!
In winter, the Fun+Card is included in the price. Highlights include the chance to spend a free day of skiing with your children on Naglköpfl Adventure Mountain in Piesendorf and go tubing.

No desire to do your own cooking during your vacation? At Restaurant Mitterwirt – popular with locals and guests alike - Sonja Voithofer and her team plate wiener schnitzels, cheesy kasnockn noodles as well as international classics. A tradition of hospitality that actually goes back to the year 1358, since when the Mitterwirt has served as a post station and a popular inn. Our tip: If you are in the mood for something delicious and hearty, you should definitely try the Pinzgauer Bladln, spareribs or pork knuckle (only by advance order)!

In that case, take advantage of the breakfast-roll delivery service provided by our local Schandlbauer bakery: You can order your oven-fresh bread daily – be that kornspitz, dinkelweckerl or classic croissants – on WhatsApp, delivered right to your apartment door. Simply take care of payment at the reception desk when you are ready to check out.
Every first Thursday of the month during the summer months, the Piesendorf Village Market is held directly across from Tauern Suites Mitterwirt. At this popular farmers’ market, local businesses offer a delectable selection of their own homemade products. Our tip: A farmhouse bread with cream cheese, accompanied by a full-flavored cheese and bacon as an outstanding option for a relaxed dinner enjoyed in your holiday apartment. Or simply take a piece of Austria with you to enjoy back in your own home…
