Holidays in the Wipptal

Between mountaineering villages & unspoilt nature

The Wipptal is one of Tyrol’s most unspoilt regions. Stretching between Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass, the valley boasts tranquil side valleys, traditional villages and an impressive mountain backdrop. Instead of large tourist centres, you’ll find authentic villages, vibrant Tyrolean culture and plenty of space to enjoy nature.

The Wipptal comprises the villages of Matrei am Brenner, Steinach am Brenner and Gries am Brenner, as well as the side valleys of Navis, Gschnitz, Obernberg, Schmirn and Vals. These villages define the region’s unspoilt character and offer numerous opportunities for hiking, mountaineering and relaxation. No fewer than five mountaineering villages stand for sustainable mountaineering and unspoilt nature. Thanks to its convenient location, you can reach both Innsbruck and the Italian border in no time.
