Murau-Kreischberg is located in the Styrian Murtal valley and is easily accessible via the Murtal road (B96) or the S36. If you are travelling by public transport, the Murtalbahn will take you directly to the Stadl an der Mur or Murau stops. The nearest airport is in Klagenfurt, around 75 kilometres away.
You can reach the Kreischberg valley station, hiking and cycling trails along the Mur and the Stadl bathing lake directly from the resort. With an altitude of up to 2,118 metres and modern snow-making facilities, the Kreischberg is considered to be particularly snow-sure. The winter season usually starts at the beginning of December and ends at the end of March. The Kreischberg received the Regionality Award 2025 and has been recognised several times in the International Ski Area Test, including as a particularly family-friendly ski area.

In early summer, the alpine pastures are in bloom, while clear mountain lakes such as Etrachsee or Prebersee invite you to cool off in midsummer.
