Just 20 minutes away is Highline 179, one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. At a length of 406 metres and a height of 114 metres, it offers sweeping views of the mountain landscape and the historic Ehrenberg castle ruins.
The famous castle is around 1 hour away and is probably one of the most popular sights in Europe. The fairytale architecture and the location above the Alpsee offer a special experience for the whole family.
The shimmering turquoise Seebensee and the high-altitude Drachensee are among the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tyrol. Hiking trails of various levels of difficulty lead through alpine landscapes to these photo motifs.
The Zugspitze is the highlight of the region. The Zugspitzbahn cable car takes you up to an altitude of almost 3,000 m, where a 360° panorama across 4 countries awaits you. Around 400 peaks and Lake Eibsee are in full view from here.
The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena has many child-friendly activities for families: The summer toboggan run in Biberwier, monster scooters and mountain carts on the Marienberg and the animal and play park in Bichlbach are particularly popular. Adventure trails such as Moosle's Explorer Trail, the Magic Forest or the Water Adventure Trail in Ehrwald are ideal for easy hikes.
If it rains, a trip to Reutte or Garmisch-Partenkirchen is worthwhile - there you will find museums, indoor climbing offers and other weather-independent activities. In the region itself, a visit to the Bichlbach animal and play park, a visit to the climbing hall, cosy stops at mountain huts and lodges as well as regional show businesses and small exhibitions are well worthwhile.
The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena offers around 144 kilometres of pistes, 131 km of cross-country ski trails, winter hiking trails, toboggan runs and nature experiences around the Zugspitze. The ski areas range from family-friendly and easy to navigate to sporty descents and glacier feeling on the Zugspitzplatt. After a day of skiing, cosy huts, night-time torchlight hikes, ice skating or winter adventures such as piste bully rides or llama tours await.

If, on the other hand, you are planning to stay in one ski area in particular, such as Marienberg, Grubigstein or Ehrwalder Alm, a single ski pass is usually the cheaper and less complicated choice, especially for families and beginners.
