The Wilder Kaiser towers over the southern part of the Kaisergebirge Nature Reserve, situated between St. Johann in Tirol and Kufstein and 110 km from Munich. Its striking rocky peak and the gentler slopes of the northern Kitzbühel Alps characterise this holiday region, which comprises the four villages of Söll, Scheffau, Ellmau and Going.

Perched on a 90-metre-high cliff overlooking the River Inn, the fortress is the symbol of Kufstein. Easily accessible via the panoramic funicular, it is home to the Fortress and Local History Museum, as well as special exhibitions and cultural events.
The Bergerlebniswelt can be reached via the Hexenwasser gondola lift in Söll. Attractions such as the barefoot trail, slides, water play areas and “HeXpeditions” make it a popular destination for families.
The Hohe Salve is a particularly beautiful panoramic mountain with views of around 70 three-thousand metre peaks. Tyrol's highest pilgrimage church stands on the summit, and a revolving terrace at the Gipfelalm provides a unique panoramic view.

Fans of the TV series Der Bergdoktor can discover numerous original filming locations in the Wilder Kaiser region – either on guided tours with background information or on their own, by foot or on an e-bike. The best chance to catch a glimpse of the series’ stars in person is at the ‘Fantage’ events and the Bergdoktor Mountain Festival.
Highlights include the Gruberhof on the Söller Bromberg, Dr Martin Gruber’s Bergdoktor practice in Ellmau, Lake Hinterstein in Scheffau and the village square in Going. The Gruberhof is easily accessible via a bookable tractor ride.
Golfing in the Wilder Kaiser region means teeing off against a backdrop of mountain views: in Ellmau, you’ll find the 27-hole Wilder Kaiser golf course, comprising three courses, as well as the 9-hole Mühlberghof course. Other top courses, such as the Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf golf course, are not far away.
