Zell am See-Kaprun is one of the most versatile holiday regions in Austria. The two towns in Salzburger Land impress with their location between glacier, mountains and lake and a first-class range of leisure activities for active holidaymakers and families.
Zell am See is located at the foot of the Schmittenhöhe, directly on Lake Zell. Kaprun with the Kitzsteinhorn glacier is just 10 minutes away by car. In Kaprun and Zell am See, dogs must be kept on a lead or muzzled in public areas. Designated dog zones with off-leash areas are located near the Klammsee in Kaprun and at the Erlberg bathing area in Thumersbach/Zell am See. The Klammsee and the Zeller See offer refreshing bathing opportunities for dogs - with the exception of outdoor pools and public bathing areas. Dog tickets for the Kitzsteinhorn and Schmittenhöhe cable cars are available at the ticket offices. Please note that dogs must be muzzled and are not allowed on the pistes. Dogs are welcome on request on 2 courses at the Zell am See-Kaprun golf course.
Three ski areas, including the snow-sure Kitzsteinhorn, guarantee fun on the slopes in Zell am See-Kaprun right through to spring. Away from the pistes, groomed winter hiking and walking trails, toboggan runs, the (frozen) Lake Zell and more than 100 km of cross-country ski trails await. The cross-country trail at Kaprun Castle is also suitable for beginners and is floodlit at night.
