The Turracher Höhe lies at around 1,800 metres on the border between Styria and Carinthia. The high plateau is surrounded by the largest contiguous Swiss stone pine forest in Europe and is characterised by the three mountain lakes Turracher See, Grünsee and Schwarzsee. The clear mountain air is considered beneficial and is virtually pollen-free. In summer, quiet paths, shady stone pine forests and places by the water await you. In winter, the region offers a varied ski area with wide pistes, modern infrastructure and guaranteed snow.
You can reach the Turracher Höhe via two access routes: from the north via Predlitz (Styria) and from the south via Ebene Reichenau (Carinthia). Many paths are dog-friendly, including the Three Lakes Circular Trail, the Barbara Trail and walks by the lake. Please note that dogs must be kept on a lead. Many huts offer water points and shady spots.

In the evening, huts and torch-lit hikes invite you in. The thermal baths of Bad Kleinkirchheim are nearby, and you can also reach Villach or Klagenfurt in around an hour.

Alternatively: a trip to Villach or Klagenfurt for a stroll or a visit to a museum. An excursion to the Granitum Radenthein or the Montanmuseum provides variety. In huts such as the Winklerhütte or Meizeit Lounge, you can enjoy regional cuisine with a view, especially in the late afternoon when the peace and quiet sets in and the sun sinks over the lake.
