How do I get to the Turracher Höhe & how long does the journey take?
You can reach the Turracher Höhe via two access routes: from the north via Predlitz (Styria) and from the south via Ebene Reichenau (Carinthia). Both routes are well developed and accessible all year round, in winter with the appropriate equipment. From Murau or Feldkirchen you need about 30 to 40 minutes.Turracher Höhe
What makes the climate on the Turracher Höhe so special?
Due to the altitude, the climate is alpine-fresh and low in pollen. The Swiss stone pine air has a calming effect and is perceived as pleasant, especially by allergy sufferers. Even in summer, the temperatures usually remain moderate - ideal for hiking and switching off.

Which excursion destinations are particularly suitable for children?
Nocky's AlmZeit with play stations, the Three Lakes Trail or the Gemstone World are ideal family destinations. The Nocky Flitzer summer toboggan run provides variety. In winter, the Kinderland at the valley station offers safe practice areas. Excursions to the surrounding area such as Heidi Alm, Nockalm Reptile Zoo or the Alpine Wildlife Park complete the programme.
What excursions can I go on with my dog?
Many paths are dog-friendly, including the Three Lakes Circular Trail, the Barbara Trail and walks by the lake. Please note that dogs must be kept on a lead. Many huts offer water points and shady spots.

One of the most snow-sure winter holidays in Austria awaits you on the Turracher Höhe. The high plateau lies at around 1,800 metres above sea level and connects the provinces of Styria and Carinthia, a true winter paradise between Swiss stone pine forests and glistening mountain lakes. From November to the beginning of May, the altitude and 100% snowmaking ensure perfect conditions on and off the piste.[nbsp] In addition to skiing, winter hikes around Lake Turrach, cross-country skiing on the Hochmoorloipe or tobogganing under floodlights are tempting, and thanks to the clear mountain air, every day here is a real relaxation experience.
From 1,700 metres above sea level and with full snow coverage, the season usually remains stable until the beginning of May.
42.7 km of slopes, 15 lifts, many medium-difficulty pistes. Well-known lifts: Kornockbahn, Schafalmbahn, Zirbenwaldbahn and Panoramabahn.

In the evening, huts and torch-lit hikes invite you in. The thermal baths of Bad Kleinkirchheim are nearby, and you can also reach Villach or Klagenfurt in around an hour.

Bad weather? No problem! Just 20 minutes away are the thermal spas of Bad Kleinkirchheim, the Thermal Römerbad with its 12,000 m² sauna world and the family-friendly St. Kathreinthermal spa with its large slide. Alternatively: a trip to Villach or Klagenfurt for a stroll or a visit to a museum. An excursion to the Granitum Radenthein or the Montanmuseum provides variety.
