Claudia has been part of ALPS RESORTS since September 2025. After completing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, she has now turned her passion for travel into a career. She is particularly enthusiastic about vacations in Austria, unique accommodations, and authentic travel experiences that combine mountains, lakes, wellness, and culinary delights.
For her, Styria is one of the most beautiful regions in Austria. The combination of nature, regional cuisine, mountain landscapes, lakes, and active experiences makes "the green heart of Austria" the ideal vacation destination for her, both in summer and winter.

Together with her Samoyed, Claudia regularly discovers dog-friendly accommodations, hiking trails, and destinations. In doing so, she pays special attention to what makes traveling with a dog truly enjoyable: ample space in accommodations, easy access to walking areas, dog-friendly hosts, and regions where both two- and four-legged friends feel equally at home.

On the ALPS RESORTS blog, Claudia writes about vacations with dogs, dog-friendly accommodations, wellness, cuisine, and active getaways in Austria’s mountains. Readers
will find personal experiences, practical tips, and inspiration for relaxing vacations in her posts.

5 Quick Questions for Claudia

  • Favorite spot at one of the ALPS RESORTS you’ve visited recently?
The Naturchalets Turracher Höhe in the middle of the Swiss stone pine forest. The atmosphere there is simply special—no matter whether it’s summer or winter. And the view from the Bergresort Hauser Kaibling of the Dachstein massif is just amazing!
  • Hotel or vacation rental?
Both. I like hotels for the spa, breakfast, and comfort; I prefer to book chalets and vacation rentals for vacations with my dog or friends. I especially love the combination of freedom, coziness, and evenings spent together with a mountain view.
  • Winter or summer?
I love summer: warm evenings, mountain lakes, sunsets, blooming meadows, and the scent of fresh grass and Swiss stone pine forests. But as soon as the first snowflakes fall, I immediately swap the lake for days on the slopes, winter panoramas, and relaxing wellness moments in the mountains.
  • Favorite regions in Austria?
Definitely Styria—for me, it’s the perfect all-around package of mountains, lakes, cuisine, and nature. But I also really like Carinthia, especially in the summer because of the warm lakes and the southern flair. Austria is an ideal vacation destination; you can find everything here: ski resorts, mountain lakes, hiking regions, and breathtaking nature.
  • What vacation means to you
Freedom. Discovering new places. Waking up to mountain views. Enjoying good food. Getting completely away from everyday life. I prefer to collect memories instead of souvenirs—between chalets, wellness, nature, and spontaneous adventures. That’s exactly what “My Way of Holiday” means to me.

Verena

SEO & Content Manager

Verena has been working in the tourism industry for nearly 25 years - and in her free time, she loves to explore the very places where others go on vacation: the mountains of Austria.

Verena grew up in the Pinzgau region of Salzburg, with a view of the Kitzsteinhorn and the Hohe Tauern mountains. Before she felt too confined in the "Innergebirg," she spent a few years traveling out into the world (and to the other side of it), only to realize in the end: Her home region is so diverse that it has everything she needs.

On the ALPS RESORTS blog, she writes about excursion tips in the most beautiful vacation regions, family vacations, and how to make the most of a vacation in a vacation home: from packing lists to recipes and meal prep, all the way to money-saving tips like the Sommercards. “Because proper planning is the be-all and end-all of a successful and relaxing vacation.”

5 Quick Questions for Verena

  • Favorite spot at one of the ALPS RESORTS you’ve visited recently?
The outdoor pool at Hideaway Dachstein West: While swimming, I could watch the deer grazing at the edge of the forest.
  • Hotel or vacation rental?
Ever since I became a mom, I’ve really come to appreciate the benefits of a vacation rental. It’s ideal for us as a family: plenty of space, our own kitchen—and preferably with a pool.
  • Winter or summer?
From October to April—as long as the Kitzsteinhorn is open—you’ll find me on the slopes on weekends, then I move on to hiking and trail running. In between, a dip in Lake Zell or a forest swim.
So the question of winter or summer doesn’t even come up; in the Salzburg region, there’s never a dull moment all year round.
  • Favorite regions in Austria?
I love exploring the west best of all; I’m particularly drawn to the Montafon, the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena, and Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. The offerings there are unbeatable for active families. Not to mention the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region and Zell am See-Kaprun: my home between the Großglockner, the Krimml Waterfalls, and Lake Zell.
  • What vacation means to you
Time to discover new regions and stay active. Guest cards that include summer mountain lifts are a real bonus for us in the summer, because the mountain adventure worlds are always a highlight for our school-age child, too.
