The Rehfugium Lachtal consists of 8 high-quality holiday homes with 44 - 81 m² of living space. Large panoramic windows open up views of the Wölzer Tauern. In addition to a private Finnish sauna, some holiday homes also have a bathtub or a whirpool.
Your holiday home in the Lachtal is just a few minutes' walk from the 6-seater chairlift. In summer, you can set off on hikes and bike tours from here, while in winter you have the pistes of the award-winning Lachtal ski area practically on your doorstep. There is also a natural snow toboggan run behind the resort.
Travelling with your dog? Walking trails start right on the doorstep, meadows and alpine trails invite you to go on excursions together. The location on the edge of the forest with no through traffic ensures a relaxing holiday with your four-legged friend.
Our holiday homes are self-catering accommodations with fully equipped kitchens. In the small shop at the reception you will find breakfast options, snacks and drinks, which can be conveniently paid for by self-check-out with a card.
The name Rehfugium is no coincidence and is reminiscent of a curious deer that dropped by during the construction phase. A beautiful symbol of the closeness to nature that can be felt here in the Lachtal.
Activities around your holiday home in the Lachtal
Just 350 m from the resort, the Lachtal ski area, also known as the "Styrian Arlberg", beckons with perfectly groomed pistes. The mountain station is located at 2,222 m above sea level - a record in Styria. A total of 10 lifts and 36 km of pistes for every level attract skiers and snowboarders from near and far. There is a practice area for children with a magic carpet and rope lifts. The toboggan run directly behind your holiday home, ice skating, curling and snowshoe hikes provide variety.
One of the most beautiful traditions in the Lachtal is the piste show on New Year's Eve and at the end of the season. With a torchlight run, "dancing" piste groomers and fireworks, it is an atmospheric highlight at the turn of the year and the end of the winter season.
In summer, panoramic trails, the reservoir at 1,950 m above sea level and the Tanzstatt Chapel, a popular photo spot, invite you to take a trip into the mountains. Hikers will find a variety of tours in the Lachtal - from leisurely walks to challenging mountain tours. The 6-seater chairlift operates on Sundays and Mondays in July and August.
Cyclists can choose between the 27 km mountain bike route to the Tauernwindpark with around 1,100 m of elevation gain or the Oberwölzer Radrunde, which is ideal for relaxed excursions with asphalt paths, little traffic and panoramic views. Adventure-seekers can experience the region from a bird's eye view with tandem paragliding - the Aufwind flying school is just 30 minutes away.
Those looking for relaxation after active days will find it in the private sauna of the chalets or in the Aqualux thermal spa in Fohnsdorf.

If you spend your summer at the Rehfugium Lachtal, you will receive the Murau GuestCard, valid from May to the end of October (variations possible). It gives you access to more than 25 services free of charge, including rides on the cable cars in the Lachtal, on the Kreischberg, on the Grebenzen and on the Kornockbahn.
