Spacious chalets in Murau, near the old town
The Sonnenchalets Murau are ideal for couples, families and groups of friends. Depending on the chalet, there are three to six bedrooms across an area of around 72 to 152 m², with space for up to 12 people. A fully equipped kitchen, spacious living areas and a furnished terrace or balcony provide plenty of space to relax and unwind.
The historic old town, with its narrow streets, the main square and St Matthew’s Parish Church, is within easy walking distance. Murau Castle towers above the town and can be visited on guided tours. Restaurants serving regional cuisine invite you to stop for a bite to eat along the way. The Mur Cycle Path runs close to the resort, and it is 5.7 kilometres to the valley station of the Kreischbergbahnen.

Each of the Sonnenchalets Murau features its own wellness area with a high-quality Finnish sauna and walk-in shower. Depending on the category you’ve booked, there’s also a hot tub or pool available on the terrace. You can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Holidays in Murau at any time of year
Right next to the Sonnenchalets Murau, there are six clay courts and two hard courts available at the tennis centre. In summer, walking trails lead to Lake Etrach, the Günster Waterfall and the Frauenalpe. The Mur Cycle Path runs along the River Mur and is ideal for day trips and longer tours. A ride on the steam tourist train also offers a special way to explore the region.
In winter, the Kreischberg offers a variety of slopes, a snow park, a ‘Dino’ slope and a speed run. Winter walks around Lake Kreischberg, snowshoe tours and toboggan runs along the Eagle Trail round off the range of activities on offer.
