Activities on the Turracher Höhe: summer & winter

In summer, the Turracher Höhe presents itself as an award-winning hiking paradise with child-friendly mountain lifts and attractions such as Nocky's AlmZeit. The popular Three Lakes Circuit, an easy tour around Lake Turrach, Lake Grünsee and Lake Schwarzsee , starts directly at Lake Turrach . The Barbaraweg leads to vantage points with panoramic views over the Nockberge mountains, while the ascent to the Schoberriegel offers an impressive experience, especially at sunrise. The waterfall at Grünsee lake is an idyllic place to linger in the midst of unspoilt nature. In winter, the snow-sure ski area impresses with family-friendly descents, sporty direct slopes, a snow park and fun slope. One highlight is sunrise skiing, where you can enjoy the freshly groomed slopes before everyone else. A walk across the frozen Turracher See lake is also a special experience.

Butlercard: your guest card on the Turracher Höhe

The Butlercard is included in your stay from June to October. It offers discounted rides on the Nocky Flitzer, the Kornockbahn and the Panoramabahn, price advantages on bike tickets, INTERSPORT and sights such as the Montanmuseum or the Nockalmstraße. Recommend to book directly!
We booked our ‘chalet’ through Belvilla, but the description and pictures where not about one and the same. First we checked in at apartment 9A, which is a beautiful apartment (luxury furnished) for max 4 adults and 4 kids. I went back to the reception to discuss our booking, since we booked a chalet with sauna and 4 bedrooms for adults. I had a nice and open conversation with two ladies from the reception. She explained me about some misunderstandings in combination with Belvilla and the issue of our booking. After a good talk they arranged a switch to chalet 6B (compared to our booking description). We really appreciated the offer to switch and the chalet was everything we wished for (A BIG THANKS TO THE LADIES)!

The chalet was 3 floors with bedrooms on every floor. All the bedrooms had on suite bathrooms and there was a sauna room with a shower. Beds and showers were amazing, big complements for that! The rooms also had a balcony with nice view. The kitchen was full optioned with a filter coffee machine and a cup version. Plenty of plates, glasses etc to find in the cabinets. Be aware of the fact that there is almost no shop in this area. On our way to the resort we stopped at ‘BILLA’ (40 minutes away) to buy groceries as breakfast and beers.

MAKE SURE TO BRING SNOW CHAINS IN WINTER! Our chalet was stationed close to the slope to (kind of) ski in ski out (5 minute walk down maximum?). Be aware of a fairly steep road to the chalet which is poorly accessible without snow chains. Several cars slid as they drifted upward! We had issues getting up with our snow chains on, but the reception sent us two nice men to help us out! The night before we left we drove the car down because of the weather forecast. The reception was kind enough to offer us a parking spot in front of the reception for the night.

We want to thank the resort for the great service. I would highly recommend to book directly with them and ask the reception if you have any questions.

Beautiful scenery, cozy and silent place in the woods with lots of snow. Fireplace, and jacuzzi is a huge plus. Nicely equipped kitchen. Slopes are within a 5 minute walk.
Only negative things are that soundproofing is nonexistent in the house, so I would not recommend to come here with a baby, and the beds are relatively small.
All in all it is a really nice accomodation, we will definitely return.
