Vacations with Panoramic Views Around the Zugspitze, Wilder Kaiser & Dachstein
Holiday apartments with mountain views are high on the wish list for many travelers. They combine the freedom of having your own accommodation with the experience of having the Alpine scenery right before your eyes at all times. Whether for hiking, skiing, or simply to unwind - a beautiful view of the mountains is an important criterion for many when choosing their vacation accommodation in Austria.
Curtain up and clear the stage for your mountain cinema! The stars of the show: Austria’s mountains. The front-row seat: your holiday apartment. We’re introducing you to 5 ALPS RESORTS where the view is guaranteed to play a starring role.
Why vacationers specifically look for holiday apartments with beautiful views
Swap screen time for mountain views
The view of the mountains conveys a sense of calm and vastness, offering a break from everyday life. In a holiday apartment with a view, you can enjoy the panorama over breakfast, with afternoon coffee, or with a glass of wine on the balcony. You always have nature in view - even when you’re not out on hiking trails or ski slopes and are “just” admiring it from the sofa.
Many guests also appreciate the combination of “waking up to a mountain view” and short distances: hikes, ski days, and excursions often start right at your doorstep. The view isn’t just a backdrop, but part of the vacation experience.
What makes a good holiday apartment with a mountain view?
More than just a room with a view
Key features of a good holiday apartment with a beautiful view include spacious windows and a balcony, a garden, or a patio from which to enjoy the mountain panorama. Equally important is the location: Some accommodations are situated right on the mountain, offering unobstructed views across entire valleys and mountain ranges. Others are located in the town center, a short distance from recreational facilities, yet with the mountain ranges practically right in front of you.
Additional comfort is provided by (private) wellness areas such as saunas, hot tubs, or swim spas with a view.

What should you look for when booking accommodations with a panoramic view?
A true view or a limited view?
Not every accommodation with a “panoramic view” offers an unobstructed view of the mountains. If you want to book a holiday apartment with a mountain view in Austria, pay attention to the exact location, the orientation of the balcony or terrace, and current photos of the accommodation. The view often varies between individual accommodations and categories.
Reviews from other guests often provide valuable insights into the actual view, sun exposure, and amenities. To be on the safe side, contact the front desk for specific information. Paying attention to these details in advance increases your chances of enjoying an unspoiled vacation with mountain views from the first to the last day of your stay.
Bottom line: TV? We love it!
It’s easy to put together a watchlist for your next vacation: mountains, nature, and plenty of sweeping views. The five resorts with mountain views featured here show just how varied a vacation with a view can be. In fact, the view of the mountains is part of the vacation experience at the vast majority of ALPS RESORTS - from breakfast on the balcony to the last rays of sunshine in the evening. Instead of staring at a screen, you gaze at peaks and valleys. And best of all: the view is available around the clock. No streaming service required.
