Activities in the Gerlitzen region & on Lake Ossiach

In summer, hiking trails start right by the resort. Popular tours lead to the Bergeralm, the Almsee lake or the Gerlitzensummit - always with a view of Lake Ossiach, Villach and the Karawanken mountains. Mountain bikers can explore the lake.bikenetwork with its varied trails around Lake Ossiach and Lake Faak. Families can visit the Kanzelhöhe adventure arena with tubing track, wooden ball track, trampoline and bike park, just a few minutes' walk away. In winter, you can enjoy ski-in/ski-out directly on the piste. The Gerlitzen Alpe ski area is particularly family-friendly, with a ski school, children's area and wide slopes for beginners. Excursions to Lake Ossiach, the Kölnbrein dam, Affenberg Landskron or the town of Villach are worthwhile all year round . By the way: Lake Ossiach is the third largest lake in Carinthia and is particularly pleasant in summer with a water temperature of around 28° C. Four-legged friends are also welcome at designated bathing areas. Thanks to its central location, you can reach Italy and Slovenia in less than an hour - ideal for day trips.

About the Gerlitzen & Villach region

Italian flair, clear lakes and a pleasant climate await you between Gerlitzen, Dobratsch and Karawanken. For hikers, we recommend the Villach Alpine Road, the Nockberge mountains or the Kölnbreinsperre dam, Carinthia's highest dam. The town of Villach is also worth a visit and invites you to take a stroll. In winter, the Gerlitzen Alpe and the nearby Dreiländereck (43 km) are perfect for skiing, snowboarding or winter hiking. Relaxation can be found at the KärntenTherme Warmbad-Villach.

Our resort is located at 1,500 m above sea level in the middle of the Gerlitzen Alpe hiking and skiing area. The Kanzelstation mountain railway is just a 10-minute walk away. Lake Ossiach is 12 km away and the town of Villach is 19 km away. From your apartment on the Gerlitzen you have a sweeping view as far as the Karawanken.

We had an excellent stay at the Bergresort Hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The food was exceptional. The ski-in/ski-out access was very convenient. The reception staff, especially Tadea Mitrovic, were kind and provided all the necessary information and excellent service.

Really nice apartments. New, well equipped and spacious. Sauna & pool combination is excellent. It's clean and well maintained.

If I had to find something to be improved, then the "garbage room in garage" does not really support recycling. Kitchenets can have a bit more equipment like non stick frying pan, more pieces of silverware etc...
